Hi All,

I have a F155 engine available for anyone who wants it. It turned over when it was given to me many years back, but after sitting idle these past years (in a garage), I can no longer turn over the engine. Others have told me it's probably due to moisture causing surface rust between the rings and the cylinder and it can be freed up through various means. I hate to throw away anything from these rigs, so if someone has an interest in it and lives local to Northern California to pick it up, it's all yours. I'll keep this post alive for a few weeks and will keep trying the various tricks to free it up (e.g. diesel in the cylinders, etc), but if there's no interest, it's off to the metal works.

I'm also giving a way a transfer case from a '72 and will post it separate, if anyone is interested.

Let me know if you need any information.

thanks,
Brian

I hope you can get this thing to turn over, it would be a shame to chuck out a rather decent looking engine due to sludge/grime. If it turned over years before, it should still be able to with some solvents to dissolve the gunk. I used diesel fuel on mine, let it sit for a couple days, then cleaned it with a tooth brush and gun-cleaning patches. Really all i did was the valves through the intake/exhaust manifold ports. Perhaps you need to tear down into yours a bit more to free things up.

If it still doesn't work out and you ultimately decide to junk the engine, there are a few parts i would be interested in if you would be able to ship them to West Texas.

Starter
ignition coil
Oil neck tube with cap
Oil filter mounting bracket
motor mount brackets on engine/bellhousing
Distributor Clamp

Also, how much would you sell the transfer case for? Is it in good condition? Does it have the vaccum 4x4 activator, and if so, do you also have any of the linkages if you don't want them? thanks

There are possibly a couple of other things off of the old 1F that i would want, such as:

Crankshaft
Rocker arm assembly.

I know these are harder to get to and remove; but i'd buy them off of you depending on your price for labor/shipping/cost. Thanks a ton

Thanks for the response. I'm going to keep working on freeing it up as I feel the same as you about throwing something out. I'll keep you posted and if I can't get it free, I'll pull the parts noted. Anything I don't keep will be free to a good home provided the shipping cost is covered. I'll send pics of the transfer case later, and similarly it's free to a good home shipping cost aside.

thanks,
Brian
