I am in the process of refurbing a 1989 FJ62 and teh frame has a ton of surface rust on it and one hole. I know I can grind/brush most of the surface rust off the outsid of the frame but does anyone have any secret fixes for the inside of the frame? I dont wat to go throught the trouble of fixing the whole outside to have it decay from within. Thanks for the help.

Search for "frame oil" and you'll find plenty to read on opinions about different oils, how to get it in there, etc.

I had good luck with spraying out the inside of the frame rails with a pressure washer to get the dirt, gravel, and flakes, letting it dry for a couple of days, then spraying Fluid Film in every hole in every direction I could turn the can. Then coated the outside of the frame, too. It turned it a really nice dark brown color, instead of that rusty red.
