Yea, real stout leveling feet. No dimple dies there, mostly custom turned brass,stainless and other tooling for differant bearing pressing applications I have had to make to keep things safe.
You'll love those leveling feet. Make sure to read the min/max wall thickness for the inserts to work. The part number I provided will work on 2" square tube with wall thickness from .120-.125. Like I mentioned, the web site can get confusing as you scroll down the page.
 
What did the work surface height end up at, and what was the depth of the two boxes back-to-back? I was doing some cleaning up and trying to get some things sorted in the barn and I have a work bench that I made out of a solid wood door that is sitting on some wooden bases. I am thinking of pulling it away from the wall and making an island similar to yours and am curious if I could do something similar. The door is 3' x 7' and currently the top is 34" AFF. How does that compare to your overall dimensions?

The overall hight is 39-3/4" and the with is 41-1/2" x 116-1/2" long (dimensions are of top surface). I needed the clearance from the floor to the bottom of frame for sweeping/mopping so you could achieve a lower work hight if your nor concerned about lower clearance.

So far it has been. I recently rebuilt the P/S pump off the 40 while sitting. I should add the stools are adjustable.

I only have the capability to break 96" (long sides of top are 116.5") so I laid out and notched the corners and paid $98 bucks to have it broke. The upside is the guy that owns the facility informed me he could get any plate stock for less than the other suppliers in town.
 
Nice work and I really like the removable diff plate feature.

BTW, I bought a used internal bore mike with no instructions (Starrett IIRC) and don't really know how to use it. Can you help out later on down the road?

This is the coolest thing I have seen on Mud in a long time. Glad I stumbled over here. I just got two Craftsman rolling chests given to me by my father in law. I was thinking of making a work bench out of them. This is way nicer than mine will end up being but it gives me some ideas. Thanks!

I still find myself opening the wrong drawers at times. I thought it was my brain running low on RAM!

It has been really efficient to work out of a single station. I still need at least two more boxes for specialty tooling.:( Once done, my wife will run some labels for me. She did the labels for all circuits indicating Amps and breaker/s numbers for quick reference in shutting down power for maintenance or repair on the shop equipment.:princess:

Yes, I do custom metal fabrication and prototype work for others and myself since 1989. Machines have been added over the years to eliminate outsourcing as much as possible enabling a quicker turnaround and maintaining quality standards. The equipment also served in my sons vocational education when he was younger (12-17). Sad that many JH-HS no longer teach basic vocational electives. That said, our investment continues to pay and my son is somewhat self reliant for a 27 y/o.

Finally put the finishing touch on the WB. Closest distance from the shop fridge and next to the trash can.
It worked five times last night! haha!
Pierce is a fire apparatus manufacture (fire truck).
