If anyone is interested, I found this post on Cars. com it is not in the right category, so I think most people overlooked it.... This looks like a nice condition fj.

Welcome to the board Kelly.

I looked at that 40 several years ago and thea back half was rotted out. Wonder if they fixed it.

I looked at it as recently as several months ago. The back half is still rotted, the interior is in sorry shape and up close overall it is in pretty rough shape. $3999 is too high for that cruiser, it is a $2000 cruiser at best. It has sat for months on end without ever being run, I imagine it leaks a lot. The last time I talked to people at Eddy's they were wanting to get rid of it and back then I think they were willing to part with it around $2500. They also told me that the cruiser was basically a mix and match, not having all of the original mechanical parts it came from the factory with like the transmission. However, imo there are several thousand dollars worth of repairs needed to bring it up to snuff. If somebody wants a project this might be a good one for the right price though.
