In a thread from the Holidays, several were discussing child safety seats. After a month of casual research to find the safest seat, and then price shopping, I stumbled upon a rippin' deal on the Britax Wizard. This is a car seat brand from Europe, and they make the Porsche and Mercedes child seats (they simply put a Mercedes logo on it). The Wizard sells for $269 and in a month of net shopping I have only seen it briefly for $249. It's the only seat with side impact protection and that has been tested in Europe as part of their NCAP program. Found a place in Naples, FL that has them on sale for $169 and that's unheard of in the well controlled Britax line. One caveat is that some children find the head side impact protection confining. If yours does, let me know and I'll post the Britax approved mod I discovered.
Rock-a-bye baby gear - 1-239-649-5150 Ask for Judy or Dori. I have no idea how many or few they have but they're all the "New Blue" color. See them on "www.britaxusa.com". No affliation, blah blah.
