hi guys! found 2 ex mine units, HZJ75's, still in the negotiating stages. Full floater rear housings with LSD diffs and high pinion front diffs:) Thinking of parting the trucks out but keeping one of the 1hz/5speed combos to swap in a prado. I'll post pics if the deal goes thru.

Quick questions-

1) What trannys are in these mine trucks?

2) Do these HZJ diffs only fit in 70 series housings or other models as well?

3) can u swap hilux/mini truck 8" diffs into the prado housings in order to trade out the 4.8's for 4.11's?

I have a suzuki/toyota creation on 38's so no need for large tires on a prado. just looking for a smooth riding coil sprung 12v street/trail rider.
--thnx

1) H55f

2) They will fit in other housings without issue.

3)Should be able to

where are you located? I might need some odds and ends.

V8's are pretty tight to get into a short prado engine bay let alone an even longer 6 cylinder engine.

I think they only used the H55 series gearboxes up untill the change to front coil sprung's then they went to an R series gearbox?

not all mine trucks were created equally some have 151 trannies.

Don't get too excited until you explore the corrosion and abuse.

Mine trucks have a HARD life (I have seen many from nissan diesel converted FJ45's, the dodges that ENS tried, to the unimog that ENS brought in).

Front ends can be exploded, spring perches in the rear can be replaced multiple times, the transmissions are often pinned out of the higher gears and the t-case gear sets are spent.

Best of luck on a true score (wishing good thoughts always for a cruiserhead)

hzj79s came with the r while the hdj79s came with the h boxes.

Correct

post up a thread of the build, i would love to see how you get a 1HZ into that engine bay using the LD clip...

thnx for the heads up. one of them is terribly rusted. he drove it to the backyard and left in the grass for a coupls of years. the other one is a driveable trail rig, it's in the garge and looks better. he's not there, been gocking at it thru the window.

what do you mean the trannys are pinned out of the high gears?
