Bug: Forum is loading odd for me

this hotel doesn't HAVE a business center....the owner is also the bartender :D

they've always been there (was IntelliTXT, testing EchoTopic now), just forgot to include the usergroup filters - JUST fixed that a few seconds ago.

Horrible right now.

Here's a weird symptom- if I open a thread (for instance) in a new window and wait for the damn thing to load, I can hit the 'Back' button and get a page that won't load, with the same title as the original. I usually can't use the 'Back' button on a new window...

hm...read this thread, hit the back button, right back to where I started....

and no speed issues whatsoever...

wonder if there isn't somewhere on the 'net pipeline that's slowing down some connection points.....

it's been bad for the last day or so... if you click on a thread, the web browser totally locks up. You cannot click on anything. After 10-30 seconds or so... it will be back to normal.

edit.. it's hit and miss if the thread will lock up. might be one particular ad? who knows

been running database maintenance scripts this morning, see if that helps with anything....

doubt it, but never know....

if anyone can find any consistency with it, that helps a TON with tracking a problem....

...and it's split-seconds for me...and I see EVERY ad on the site....

Still ugly today for me. Also, I was on wifi at a hotel in Pasadena Tuesday and Wednesday, and having issues. At the time I blamed it on the hotel and my laptop (not my usual computer).
Wish I were more tech savvy so I could help. FWIW I'm on XP, IE, and high speed cable. Forum is usually flawless for me, even with my star expired.

Still bad here at work, and I am on the back bone of a major computer corp.

More info- when I click on anything (forum, section, thread, reply, whatever) the page responds quickly, then locks- no scroll, no clicking, no highlighting. After ~10 seconds average, I get several 'click' sounds, as if I clicked on something, then the page finishes loading and I have control again. I sometimes see an ad load at this time, sometimes not, but I assume an ad loaded somewhere on the page that I can't see.

I ain't bitchin', just trying to help. I know you want the forum to be easily navigable, otherwise people won't use it.

Seems ok now, but I had issues earlier this am in the CSC section. A thread with a huge photo dump only loaded a few pics then the rest were the white box with red x's, took forever to back out of it. When I tried an hour later it loaded fine..

It just took 6 mminutes to load page 2 of the "Roscoe is Here thread" over in the Pets and Animal section at 54mbps.

Yes I'm serious about the 6 minutes to load page 2 of the "Roscoe is Here" thread, but just poking a stick at you about the Pets and Animal section.

1) How long have you been doing EchoTopic? The longest, last hangup for me seems to be waiting for those ads.

2) Same here with the back button. You can even see it in the "recent pages" drop-down: almost every page visited gets recorded two or three times.

The problem is getting intensely worse  took me 10 minutes to to this point.

Bad JUJU here..... something is definitely wrong..........:frown:

Ooh, I just got something new! I hit 'Back' and got the infamous white page, then 'Forward' and got a small window from IE saying "This page has an unspecified security flaw. Would you like to continue?" with the 'Yes' 'No' options below that text. I chose 'Yes' and got more white page and had to close IE and start a new session. Mean anything? I've never seen that warning before.
