I am owed a wheelin trip, sounds like if the timimng is right I will be making this run, however, keep in mind I am still sprung under, and I will not tolerate a wet seat.

In other words what is the water level going to be like?

We'll have to check the water level when it is closer to the date. They should still be releasing alot of water to do repairs on the dam.

Hello all, just posting that I've just now joined TLCA, and will follow suit with a PMC membership as soon as I excavate my printer from storage.

Anyway, I'm interested in coming along on this Fordyce run, but I have no wheels at the moment. (40's still being rebuilt, and all my money will be tied up in savings for when I go to Park Ranger Academy this winter). Anyway, what I'm driving at is if I could tag along on the run as a passenger. I'll chip in for gas costs if need be. I'll follow this up when I get to look at my work schedule, and see if i have the Columbus Day weekend off.
Be Blessed

Hi All I am wondering if you can recommend a book of trail maps for the sierras?

I don't know if they have a book of maps, but Delourme makes just about the best quality maps I've ever used. Far better than the Garmin maps, and on par with National Geographic, or better. I've been tramping around the woods with a little Delorme Earthmate PN-20 GPS for the past year, and it's treated me very well.

My other reccommendation is to get maps that are specifically USGS quads. The US Geological Survey only certify the best quality Topo maps, and they come standard with UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) lines, which make navigating very accurate. A good collection of Quads, a UTM ruler, a Compass, a GPS and the know-how to use 'em, and you'll never get lost. I can swear by that, as there are dozens of stretches of State and National Park lands I could be lost in right now if it weren't for those tools while backpacking with my Scout Troop.

My 0.002.

Someone will more than likely have an open seat. Keep checking in. Right now it sounds like there are only 4-5 trucks going.

No. I was thinking up the trail more, before the committe trail. There is a spot on the left side were you turn down to the left and it is by the river.

I'm watching this.....Roger ? you there?

Come on Don. Get old blue or red and lets go.
Courtney should of call me. I had room in my truck for the MCR run. To bad she missed out. Fishing sucked this time a Rock Bound. We only caught 2 in 3-4 hours of fishing. I think the Osprey was getting more then us. We keep hearing this big splash in the distance and we would see it flying away.

Don I am here. Would like to go.I will see if I can get Firday off . I need to get out of the house.Been working on the Stubby (45) about ready to roll to the grocery store. Looking good so far. Don hows retirement going?

Retirement is going very nicely. I don't have to worry if I can get any Friday off. Drove a Limo for about 6 weeks (couple day s a week) but found the money wasn't worth the time off.:D

Blue's drivable cept the front dl has not been upgraded from Mudraks Rubithon Repairshop. It would probably hold up fine. Red's driving daily around here and cruises the highways great but I hate beating her up in the rocks anymore.

Now that I think of it, anyone have an open seat? I'd love to see this trail in person before our wonderful Federal Govt. closes the rest of the roads in OUR forests....

Don, check with Eric, he is bringin the buggy, fun ride.
Does anyone know the status of fire restrictions ?
If there are none is anyone bringin a saw ?

Try to be encouraging Eric, it helps.
