C4 is an OD transmission? I don't think so.

So what kind of food are you feeding your money tree to prepare for all this?
 
Well, guess I just got my balls busted thinking the C4 was an OD transmission. AOD adapts to the 203, correct? If so then the only change is the AOD vs C4.

But I think finding this out has decided alot for me. I know I want portals. I wont be satisfied until I have them, but I may go through 5.29s and beefed and locked stock axles before I get there. I know I need to be geared lower, whether I get it from a new case or from reduction gears, I must have lower low-range. I also know that I want more power, the 3FE is too doggy to just play around and cut up and raise hell with in stock form. So a turbo might be first, but I feel that ultimately I'll have a V8 in my LC.

I know what I like to do, and what I want to be able to do with my LC. And I damn sure didnt buy it for the mileage. If I have to spend 15k more to get my LC where I want it, then by God I will. But if I can get there for less, I'll do that too. I always kick myself hard when I dont do something the way I want it and cut back because of time or money, I'm not gonna stop with this thing until I get to the point that I can say that I'm done, and actually mean it. All of you, I cna tell, are thinking that this would start tomorrow, and that thousands of dollars will be spent all at once. Hell, I've put almost $4k into my LC this far, minus the starting price tag, it doesn't feel like it and I dont hurt because of it because I have taken my time and done it slow and not spent more than $700 at a single purchase. I know that price is gonna grow as I age and as the LC grows too...but that's ok. And you have to think of it this way. This is a hobby that brings me the majority of the happiness in my life. Would you sell yourself short in what makes you the happiest if you know you dont have to?

What gear do you preasently have?



maybe, MAYBE........and this is a long shot, a REgear would take the dog out of it.


are you wearing the 38's when your cut'n up?
 
33's, 38's...doesn't matter. It's a dog. 5.29s would get me geared right, but they wont get my pumpkins out of the rocks, and 40's under my rig. And even when I had 31s, I felt that the crawl ratio left much to be desired.
