Thanks for all the responses folks. I'm in no hurry to run out and buy a 100, but looking for the ONE, if I happen to come across it.

One question, I saw some models have a height control or some sort, is that only on the lx470's? How does that effect adding a lift, such as the ome 2.5", or does it have no effect...?

thx

I've not owned an 80 but have driven them on the street. The dash reminds me of my 88 mini truck and 4runner. The 100 is much nicer to drive, and for 0.5% of the time the 80 would better in stock trim it ain't worth it to me.

Looking at your sig, you have a nicely built 80. You probably won't get the money youve put into it back out of it. In my opinion keep the 80. If its not that comfortable then do something about it. You obviously werent' satisfied with the power so you have put a supercharger on. So whats keeping you from making it more comfortable? Put a set of recaro's in it and a nice navigation stereo and call it a day. Maybe put the stock springs back in to get a better ride. Sure 100's are more comfortable, they are newer, but that doesn't mean for a little money and time you can't make yours comfortable. Starting over with a new rig is a ton of work and commitment. An 80 is a very solid vehicle that is not worth throwing out just for a bit more room and nicer ride.

Knowing what I know now, I might have kept my old 80 as long term vehicle that will eventually become the secondary car. Sure a 100 drives better, but as a long term vehicle it seems more expensive to replace IFS parts such as steering rack, UCAs, lower ball joints or the entire LCA, etc. Ie. new steering rack & poly bushings is about $1k that normally doesn't need replaced on 80.

I might buy another 80 as replacing front axle caster bushings, outer tie rods, plus rear axle control arm bushings (vs buying entire arms, steering rack, etc) would tighten up the drivetrain for pennies compared to similar 100 components I've dropped money!
