I was driving my kids to school and daycare this morning and while cruising along the freeway my left foot feels a bit awkward flat on the floor board,i got used to my 93 truck having a foot rest.did anybody found something that could work as a foot rest or built something?just poking around if any body out there is having the same concern.thanks again ppl. john:o

Mine has a footrest. Maybe it was something that was added in the later model years?

62 vs. 60? Mine has one.

Try one off of a 62.

I was wondering the same thing. I suppose it will be the newest, hottest item to swap off of 62s.

The only bummer about it is it is next to impossible, at least IME, to find floor mats to fit around it. I had to "customize" my Weathertech mats to fit around the footrest. I then used some poly sealant that I tinted gray to close off the area that I cut out, otherwise all the water and mud just ran right off and under the mat.

really?

i was surprised to find out that 62's came w/it.is this a bolt on thing? can i swap it to my 60 w/ little modification?thanks for the input gentleman and ladies, just making sure everybody is covered.:D john

Yep, its a teeny little bolt. Super simple. I actually removed mine simply because I couldnt find any nice floormats that would actually work. Added some additional leg room too.

foot rest.

Yes they are pretty easy to put in.
I have on sitting in the garage if you want it.
off a 1988 fj62.

This is what they look like.

I sent you a pm let me know if your interested.

Have a good one.

Does the dead pedal get in the way of the clutch? Last time I drove a 62 it seemed like it would.

That is, assuming that vipergrhd is putting it into a 60, not a 62.

Like to know that myself, my foot has been uncomfortable for awhile in my 60 and was always thinking of something, but if this works, hay.

thanks for the offer landcruiserman,i need some measurements just to make sure that it will not be a problem w/ the clutch pedal.thanks again.yes this going into my 87 60.

I will pull the one out of my 62 and put it in my 60 and take a picture for you.
thank you for taking the time to do it,much appreciated effort. john

foot rest.

I just went out to the garage.
It is tapered .
The part that is closest to the driver is about 5 inches,
It tapers to about 4 inches at the fire wall.
I only have a fj62 so don't know if it will work in a 60.

Let me know what you guys find out.

Just a fyi
That picture was from spector, i think that picture is from a fj80.

Talk to you later.

I swapped in a 4 speed into my 62 and kept the dead pedal...it is kind of close, but have never hit it, even with mud covered boots on. Wouldn't like it if it weren't in there!
