What options are out there for deleting the power antenna?
I prefer a fixed mast antenna.

Search.
Or just put a new one on the roof, that's the best place to receive radio signals. Easy to get to a spot over the front seat map/reading lights.

Thank you. I searched but came up with only replacing the power antenna and adding one to the roof. Neither of which I want.
If you dont want to replace the old power antenna and dont want a new on the roof, then please specify what you want, it will make it easier to
for us to help ;-)

I guess I wasn't clear? I want to replace my power antenna with a fixed mast antenna. But I want it to look factory.

I like the Tundra antenna, it does look factory. I've already put the parts in my Amazon cart.

I will.
The price of the parts has gone up, he didn't say where he bought them, but the antenna assembly is now $60 and the mast is $30.
So I'm going to shop around for better pricing, but once the job is done I will post about it.

Oh, and for those who worry about their fixed mast radio antenna coming off in a automatic car wash...if the mast is tight it will not come off.
They eventually wiggle loose and that's when they get eaten by the car wash and beat your car as you sit helplessly inside watching in horror.
So you use Loc-Tite or some other thread locker and it will never come off on its own.

I actually, did this on my 80 series. Pretty sure there is/are a few write ups on that board. I swapped out the factory antenna for a black rubber 14" antenna. I just disconnected everything and installed the rubber antenna. It was pretty straight forward... The reception seemed better with the rubber antenna and it looked factory. On another note, I just replaced my factory antenna on the 100 series. I went w/ OEM, maybe in the future I will go back to the rubber on this truck.

Check partz.net they are having a sale this week.

There's another option to replace the power antenna and that is with a 100 series manual antenna. I have the manual telescoping antenna on my 2000. Gives you the ability to have the fixed antenna that doesn't go up and down every time you turn the key while still being able to collapse it at the car wash, on the trail, etc.

Just another power antenna option.

Or if your current mast is fine, just put it up and unplug the motor.

My current antenna works just fine. I have no interest in a manual mast. Kinda takes the fun out of seeing a trail as you're driving to the inlaws and then see a trail you've not yet been down so you crank the wheel and next thing you know you're 2hrs late for thanksgiving dinner but you didn't stop to get out and lower the antenna because you didn't think about it and its northern Michigan on thanksgiving day so it's a blizzard and so now your antenna is destroyed.

I did the thread a few years back about the Tundra antenna. Still going strong and I have no problems to report. Parts came with a little plastic wrench to take the mast off at the car wash.

I got the parts from Toyota Parts - Genuine OEM Toyota Parts & Accessories Online, which used to be toyota parts zone. I just looked and the prices have gone up a little but not too much. $44 bucks for the assembly. You might also try one of the parts vendors on here like Beno - just b/c it's a Tundra part doesn't mean he can't get it. I've also seen good prices and gotten quick ships from Camelback Toyota in Phoenix.

Just bought my first Land Cruiser 1999 yaaay! So mine had the OEM antenna removed when the snorkel was fitted. It still has the rubber boot in the body hole. I was wondering if the Tundra method would work or is the snorkel body going to interfere with it?
