Just finishing the overhaul of the cooling system on my 92 FJ-80: new water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, radiator and hoses and I need some advice on flushing out the system. I read the post on back-flushing with everything attached, but is there a way to do this without running the old stuff from the engine and heater core through the new pump and radiator? Or does it make that much difference? I would rather just put it back together and back-flush using the directions on the archived post. Thanks,
Pat...

I replaced everything you did on mine and just refilled the system and went from there --

-- I was running Toy. red prior to that, with two flushes in the preceding 6 mos. --

-- I had 195K on mine --

good call rick -- i replaced that while i was in there, dousing it with rustoleum -- did it on my '94 too -- with the rad. out is a perfect time to do it --

Power steering cooler? Where is it and what does it look like? I have this buttoned up at this point (except for the grill work). CanI still get at this cooler with all this stuff in the way? I will replace it, if you suggest that this is a good idea. I want to do this right. Let me know. Thanks,
Pat...

the p/s cooler is the lines that trace the frame, starting at the left side, going across the cross-member, and ending up at the right side --

-- if you go under the front of your truck, you'll see them there, and then the radiator there, blocking their removal --

-- they are very diff. to remove with the radiator in place -- though jacking the body off the frame a bit has worked for some --
