Did a 4 hr each way ski trip this weekend with 5 people. Wife said the pass side front was freezing. Appears as though no heat coming out on floor. Did get hot air at dash vents however. Sounds like the flap for the foot well vent is not opening? Didn't have time when I got home to look at.

Also I did notice the the heat would fluctuate as far as temp out of the vents, usually got cold once in a while.

Outside temp started at 5 deg, up to 18 by end of trip. Lot's of warm bodies on board!

I always just use the manual setting and don't fiddle with it often, but I found I had to keep turning it up and then back down. It's def not engine temp as the gauge is running steady mid range.

Truck is well maintained, cooling system flush a year or 2 ago, nice and clean. 150k on the truck.

Does anyone use the auto setting? Maybe that is a better way to go?

Any ideas?

I use auto except initially when I need real quick heat I'll usually use climate and control the vents and max heat manually. Once it's warmed up I stick with auto. At least for me, I've noticed that Auto Heat never seems to use the center console vents, just the side ones - the vents work fine when I control them manually but when on auto I never seem to get real heat out of the center console upper vents. I assume that's by design (on other vehicles it blows too much air out of the center vents and I want to turn it down so I appreciate if it's by design).

Also, others have pointed out that the second row heat only comes out of the floor vents, not the vents on the ceiling.

Not sure if there are any other quirks people have noticed.

I'm glad to know someone else was having this problem. Over Christmas, I traveled from Iowa to Oklahoma. Hot on drivers side and freezing on pass side on floor heat. Generally it was much colder on pass side overall. Will try the idea of unplugging and replugging it in and see if it works better.

You're saying you had heat on Drivers side but not on Passenger's side? Doesn't sound like the kind of problem the others are describing here or on the anemic heater site. If there's an air bubble in the coolant, or the thermostat is not working, or the front temp sensor is not connected or not working, I would think no hot air in the front for DS or PS. But you're describing hot air for DS just not PS?

I know it's silly, but I have to ask - are the PS vents closed?

I've got the same problem, no heat on pass side floor. I'm thinking it's gotta be a heater flap not opening?

no heat on floor

Ive got no heat to the floor. It comes out blazing from the upper vent but nothing from the floor.

I can hear it blowing but nothing come out. I figured it's the flaps not opening. I tried switching it back and forth about 20 times to unstick them but nothing.

Did anyone ever solve the passenger side floor heat problem? I have the same one. It gets nice and hot on the drivers side floor. Or it's warm on both sides with the dash vents. But almost nothing from the passenger floor.

check the carpet, it might be covering the vents. i had that problem on DS, good luck

I was just going to write that...mine was the carpet on the pass side.

It may have been the carpet. It wasn't obviously blocking the vent, but it definitely wasn't tucked in the way it was supposed to be. I'll report back the next time I drive it and have someone in the passenger seat.
