not sure about - Toyota OEM quality -
here is the free "kit pocket" from Crutchfield that comes with a H/u purchase

no complaints on my part....

replacement of the h/u and stock speakers is fairly rudimentary (remove stock amp is a must) - tons and tons of posts (of which I have contributed on)

I know this thread is a few years old now but hopefully still active: If I go for a basic Pioneer head unit, designed to work with 4 speakers + Bass...how do I get power to front dash speakers and rear headliner speaker? I haven't ripped into my dash yet but I'm assuming the stock amp provides the add'l power to all these speakers? Related can you add link to the "tons of posts" re removing stock amp? Can't find anything in search. Thx!

All depends on if you have a LX450 or Land Cruiser.

Land cruiser is easy just get the Metra Harness that plugs into the two gray connectors behind the radio instead of the larger white connector. Unplug the amp behind the passenger side dash speaker. No other wiring is necessary.

LX450 does not have the two gray connector and a harness must be fabricate to run between the radio and one of the plugs disconnected at the factory amp. There is a specific thread so can search for to get the details. Try searching "LX450 stereo" or similar.

The either LX or LC the third row speakers are garbage and should just be disconnected. Not worth finding replacements. The same for the front dash speakers and factory subwoofers as they provide little to the proper sound stage. Spend your pesos on the front and rear door speakers. There are lots of threads on speaker replacements you can search.

Looks like you have an earlier model like mine is a 93, how do you get that factory radio out without breaking the plastic or removing the whole dash?
93-94 same dash. Basically carefully.
