I have a 90 3.0 5 speed and want to correct the rear spring sag that most 4runners suffer from. And this weekend was offered a set of fj80 front springs for a smoking price. Just wanted to make sure that these fit the second Gen rear like they do on the third gene. Thanks for any info that you can provide

You want the rears, and in that specifically 2 lefts or 2 rights, not a mix of the 2. Reason being is they are 2 different lengths because of how an 80 Series gas tank fully filled preloads the suspension. A Runner being smaller will lean to one side if the 2 mixed lengths are used.

Are you looking for a lift or leveling? What size tires are you running versus what you may be switching to?

**Isn't this in the FAQ's guys? If not we should be sure it is for future similar questions.

I am looking to lift and level at the same time, because the previous owner of my 4runner put the longer Rancho torsions up front, which makes the rear sag look even worse. If the fj80 front springs don't work I will probably just get those cheesy spring spacer inserts they sell at autozone.

I have 33x11.5 bf mud terrains on here for now

The spring spaces are fine in a pinch, and the OE spring rate is preserved, which is pretty handy.

Were I you, I'd check out what Old Man Emu has lined up for your rig. It may cost a little more than scrounging up some 80 springs, but it will spare you more than a few headaches in the long run.
My two hundredths of a buck.

OME springs will net you a 1.5" lift.

So old man 4runner lift springs are the way to go... @150 there not to bad igloos guess. What's the firmness best for mostly street driving
