ALCON-

With my 100 series getting on a flat bed on Friday (should be in 10 days) the end is coming for my 80. I was hoping that someone locally would buy this truck, but I guess that the market for a used 80 is soft or everyone is broke.

What I am attempting to do now is to part out the truck locally. The key word is locally. I do not feel like boxing up stuff and mailing it to the four corners of the country. There are a lot of new and or highly desirable parts on this rig. In my mind I would like to drive to a centralized location and have everyone bring a wrench and do a massive YOU PULL and pay as you go. The big issue is going to be the lockers. I do not believe there is a local buyer for those and I may need to back haul them back to 19063.

The truck is a green 1994 80. It has a LX 450 leather interior that is in great shape. The motor has 95k on it, new water pump, plugs, wires, pcv, PHH, belts, etc. Rims are in good shape, new rear calipers, new rotors on all four corners, OME suspension. Like I said, this truck is in great shape but needs to go, either in pieces or whole.

More to follow later today.

Sold the bumper last week.

Was going to put the OEM back on this week.

Sad to see it happen, but I do think I would like dibs on the rear liftgate and tailgate...

I'd be interested in some other stuff as well, like the hood...

maybe i'll just replace most of my body panels..

OME medium springs?

The upper and lower tail gate have not been spoken for yet and I think they will match your existing paint scheme. They are in excellent condition. All of the body panels are in good shape, I could not seeing anyone else getting that hood, you have been after it for about 2 years.

I have a spare driver's side white door that is also available.

John

Yes, I guess I have been, huh?:D

Yep, you're green, I'm green. Same green! I have rust on the leading edge of the hood, rust reappearing on the lift gate (been fixed and repainted once already by a PO), and the tail gate is warped and dented.

You will be happy with tailgate on this rig, she has a nice ass - if you know what I mean.

I have one person that is interested in the truck, and if he passes then I will start with the process.

May be interested in the diffs if they are available?

Yes, but they are a bit pricey due to all of the work that IPOR put into them and the money that I shelled out to make them right. I would like to sell them as a set, with all of the hardware (ECU, swtiches, wiring harnesses).

There is a guy on the forum cposeadog that was interested in the rear locker, you may want to give him a shout and see if you guys can come up with a plan.

Argh too slow! If Lugboot passes on your upper gate, I want 2nd in line.

No problem, maybe we work out a deal, how bad is his tailgate? If it's better than yours, perhaps he could hook you up??

I am showing the truck on Friday and if it does not go well, (if it does not sell) then we will set a date for partspullpalooza.

I'd be possibly interested in the diffs, but I know you want to sell the axles whole. My problem is everything is new on my axles too, just they are open diffs.
I'm in need of a new master control window switch, another window switch and maybe window motors and regulators. I'm sure there would be other stuff I could take if it goes the part out route.

Locked - But not currently Locking

John, can you please tell me what is the meaning of this qoute from your signature? Which one is not locking, the rear or the front? Why are they not locking?

The lockers are not locking because the center dif is not locking. Along with this issue, the truck does not have the floor and sill harness for the rear locker, so if the center diff were to lock, the rear would not lock because there is no signal/electricity being sent back there to tell it to lock.

I would be putting one of the locking diffs in the front axle of my soon to be SAS 88 4 runner and would wire it up seperately. Or if the guy with open diffs gets the locked diffs and wants to unload the hi pinion unlocked diff, I may be interested in that as well.

Comes down to I am looking for a hi pinion diff, locked or not to put in the front axle of my 88 4 Runner with a 85 mini truck front axle swapped in.

THanks

JT - I am not sure what the meaning is of that last data burst, so in plain english, what parts are going to be requiring? High pinion, low pinion - open dif???

I am looking for a high pinion diff to install in my front axle. It can be an open diff, but would prefer it to be the elocker version, that you have. As long as the diff and electric motor are operable, I can make it work in my truck since I will be making a seperate stand alone wiring harness for it, so eventhough your center diff will not let the locker engage, I should still be able to make it work. Also, I would imagine that the gearing is 4.10??

I have an 88 4 Runner that I am going to be putting a mini truck solid front axle under.

Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?

Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?

I just wanted to be clear on the parts that you need versus the parts that I have. I can't sell something I don't have.

No problem--I can understand that. Just thought all the pinion talk and diff talk and locker talk was funny.
