Hey All-

Thought I would pass along this information as I have been searching for a new master power window switch but have not wanted to spend $250 on an OEM one. This could be a great alternative for $25 and lifetime warranty...

I'll post back once I recieve and install the new switch.

Thanks for the tip, keep us posted on its performance.

Been using my switchdoctor window switch for a couple of years now. Installed easy, no issues so far. Mine is the later model though.

One nice feature is that mine had the auto up and auto down feature built in. Not sure if they all have it or what, but mine does.:smokin:

Definitely report back. Mine still works fine (have cleaned the contacts several times over the years) but it is getting brittle due to the Texas sun. At some point I will need to replace.

Yep it looks like the auto up/down feature is standard.

They do state that there is a lifetime warranty if you want a free one!

Update: the power switch is installed and works perfectly. Would recommend over the OEM since it is easily accessible, $25 and lifetime warranty.

No thank you. I ordered a new 62 one before, the wiring was backwards. Their support advised me they can send a diagram so I could rewire it. I returned it the next day.

I will stick to OEM or used OEM. Lots of 80s out there so no need to settle with chinese junk.

Fair enough. I was just noting that the $25 switch has worked so far for me.

Just installed mine and the "AUTO" is always lit. Is everyone's like this? Mine didn't come with the red paint ring around the window lock button either. :meh:

EDIT: Nevermind; took it apart and cut out the light diode. Much better!

Yep mine is auto as well!

What light diode did you take out?

If you take out the three screws holding the SwitchDoc back plate on, (I didnt bother to unscrew it from the OEM trim piece after the initial install) pull the motherboard out and mine had just one light soldered near the driver's window switch. A quick snip of the leads and no more constant green light and everything else still works as supposed to.

Ahhhhhh good tip!

Mine is the same way, but also was that way with the stock switch if you have the "always-on power window" mod.

I just installed this switch and noticed the light was on after i took the key out. I've now noticed that it is not lit in the morning when I get in the truck. It must time out and shut itself off. I'll monitor for more details. Also mine has auto down but not up it appears.

Maybe I missed this, anyone know if this will work in a 97 ? I thought all of the years of the 80 series we’re the same ?
