Update:
The Hanna Left and Right Wheel Well Storage can be purchased separately if you do not need the sleeping platform. PM for more info.

This is a combination of 2 storage baskets that fit over the wheel wells (similar to Luke's 3rd row seat racks-$495 pair) in place of the 3rd row seats. These are very heavy duty welded construction from another well known fabricator who used to build them 5-10 years ago, and they are constructed in a manner to use existing bolt holes already in place in the back of the 80 series. I have built a metal square tube reinforced baltic birch panel that bridges across the storage baskets and that can be dropped to the floor for large object cargo capacity, or lifted up and tightened in place as a permanent or semi permanent shelf kit that can slept on, also serving to create storage underneath the shelves. In the raised position, it is the same height as the folded down rear seat backs, and two persons can comfortably sleep on this configuration. I have used high quality auto carpet to match the oak carpeting on the 80 series, and I have installed 6 tie down points that are routed/inset into the baltic birch panel for a flat surface. I will include one detachable tie down insert so that the purchaser can buy more of the same type if needed. The bridge panel also has baltic birch legs that drop down to support the panel while lifting it into the high position, and the metal square tube reinforcement ensures that the bridge panel will not sag. This carpet is also very clean- it's just the way the light is hitting it that makes it look like there are marks on the carpet.

This whole set up probably weighs 160 lbs and is very solid. I can deliver within two hours of Stafford Virginia, and I am also driving to Myrtle Beach SC from northern VA on the 21st of Jan and can meet up along the way. I have a lot of hours and about $300 in high quality materials in this project, as well as $550 for the wheel well storage units, so I think $600 for this setup is a good price for the purchaser.

When it is dropped, it goes all the way down to the deck of the LC. When raised, the metal frame of the sleeping platform fastens to the frame of the 2 wheel well baskets, and that can be adjusted up or down about 14-16 inches, from the deck to almost the top of the basket. The wooden legs are there only to assist in holding it up while attaching the platform to the baskets. Then they can be folded up to open the storage area completely below the platform. Also, the platform can be easily removed from the rear so that only the baskets remain. When fully raised, the platform can be level with, or even higher than the folded seat backs.

Hi Irowe,

Nice looking work you have here. I was going thru the site in search of a gas filler tube for my 97' Landcruiser (looks just like the one in your pic). I am pretty new to approaching the site for info, but Toyota said they no longer carry the part. I get the impression from your work that you might be able to point me in the right direction(s). Would you have a few moments to share some suggestions here? THanks, Pauli

Pauli:
Go to the classified section titled “parting out”. Start looking there for people parting out LC’s the same model as yours. You can contact them about the gas filler parts. You can also post up that you “WTB” (want to buy) that part in the classifieds if you have enough posts to be able to post the thread.

Thank you Louis. Have done so and have already received a few replies too. My LC was from Fairfax, have to appreciate the lack of rust but I do love the snow!

Exactly right, and that is what I carried in them as well. Thanks for the bump...

BUMP- Hanna Storage available separately from the platform if that is all you need.

$420 face to face or locally. I can ship them but they are very heavily built, and the brackets that fasten to the third row seat hardware probably weigh 25 lbs each in addition to the weight of the steel baskets.

I don't have a problem separating them from the platform since you already have the hanna racks. I'll send you a pm.

This platform and hardware is sold. I will close the posting, and open a new posting with just the Hanna Baskets.
