Why would you need new soft lines? I'm getting ready to do this job as part of my axle service as well, and don't remember reading anything about the brake hoses needing to be changed, can you clarify?

The ends are slightly different if I remember. The banjo fitting has a little spur with a pin thru it that locates the fitting on the caliper. I seem to remember the distance and placement of these pins being different from the new to old caliper, but I have slept since then. I think I have my old calipers in the garage and I can see if I can get a picture for reference tomorrow.

When brake hoses crack and leak you need new ones. Some folks like the bling-bling of stainless. Others need them for large lifts. Some say when they get old, they bulge under pressure and reduce brake effectiveness. I'll just stick with plain old brake lines personally.

If you are interested in doing so, this could be a good time to upgrade to the later style brakes. The later discs are about an inch larger in diameter and nearly twice as thick. If you can pop for the new calipers, with your old cores they won't be too bad, then it is a true bolt on upgrade for the early model rigs.

You should have mentioned that won't work with stock 91-92 rims.

We'll my new rotors and pads are in :) took me 3 hours doing the first axle. Did the second one the next day and I did it quicker than the first one :) it was pretty straight forward and easy especially if you have the "correct" tools... its just very time consuming..

you don't need to.... the old ones if in good shape will be fine.

Oh yeah, good call there. I have 17" tundra's on mine so I completely forgot about that.
