I'm currently looking at a 1989 FJ62. It is an import from Columbia but currently has a clean US registration. It has the F3 engine and the owner says the front brakes are drum. Did they all come with drum brakes? Are there any conversions available to make the front end disc brake? This F3 is carbureted. In know the F3E is injected. Anything that I should be aware of? Thanks for your help and pearls of wisdom.

as someone who works on dozens of South American import Cruisers a year, my recommendation is to just choose a different one

Matt- thanks for the advice. This is where I need to listen to someone who knows and put my enthusiasm aside. So the search continues.......

You will get tons of advice here for sure. Grab a USD 60 or 62 and you will be miles ahead. Unless that import has cable lockers, sliding rear windows, ambulance doors or any other exotic option not originally offered here I’d say you are just asking for an extra nightmare.
