Anyone have a suggestion for where I can get a tow hitch receiver for a 1990 FJ62? I tried UHaul, they have a Class 2 listed but when I received it it was a Class 1.

Been asked a couple of times recently. I believe the answer has been "No longer available". Might want to check the classifieds.

There’s lots of “multi fit” 2” receivers with a class 3 rating on the market. Certainly one of them would work. It will hurt the rear departure angle, but so will any frame mount hitch unless you go for a bumper with integrated receiver...

I “dissected” one from all the pictures I found on the web for the old Fj60/62 models and built one.

Pics. I have a couple more but the site doesn’t want to upload them

Here’s some pics of the copy...
I then made a bumper with a receiver hitch, so this is gathering dust in the shed...go figure. You close to NM?

Is it a Class 2? and how much would shipping be?

No, Im in south Mississippi.
Yes, it's at least a Class II. It has a 2" receiver, and it looks just like the one above (except that this one needs to be painted). I'm in Jackson, so unless you're in a hurry for it, maybe we can figure a way to "MUDship" it to get it shipped free the 172 miles between us.

Hey, I’ll be heading up to Meridian on the 15th. I can swing over to Jackson on my way if that’s good for you.

Thanks for the advice on the Draw-Tite 75725. I just installed mine but used a slightly different approach than ShesMad showed in the photos in his post. I mounted the bolts at the receiver to the cross member with M12 bolts instead of under the bumper. This way the receiver sits flush with the bumper. Had to drill two holes in the hitch (to line up with the 3rd hole forward of the bumper on the frame), two in the frame to match up with the pre existing holes in the frame. M10 bolts.
On the cross member I added two metal shim washers and one regular washer to get it lined up well.
This setup is just for bikes so I’m only using two bolts on each side of the frame.
