Hey guys, I've got a problem... I seem to be amassing late 80's/early 90's Toyotas outside. Even when I sell one another takes its place within days!! Anyhow, I've got a pair of Cruisers... a dark metallic grey 88 with 164K on the ticker with no rust, but a few issues from being driven so little (6k miles in 5 years was all). A few "trail dents" and whatnot, but a fairly nice all-around truck, even with her little flaws. I've had her for about a year now and LOVE IT!! I had always wanted one of these!!

So two weeks ago I'm craigslist trolling and I turn up a "parts truck" 91 here locally... so I go check it out and it is FAR too nice to be parted out and I find out I can get a title for it, so I'm about to be in process of getting a title, then looking for a front diff. for what turns out to be a 92. Leather seats (fronts need the bottoms recovered), third row seats, sunroof, two-tone 90's goodness, 180k on the ticker and a bad front diff, otherwise everything is "supposed" to be good. Not sure about the motor, tranny yet, but guy said everything else was good when the truck was parked. I'm going to do a full fluids changeout, fuel system service/drain the old gas and all that junk, etc. The truck also has remote start installed and a few other cool items, so I've got my fingers crossed that I can get it titled and on the road.

My main obsession is mk1 (85-89) MR2s... I have three of those right now. Just wanted to say hi from out near Waxhaw, NC. Speaking of which, spotted a white fj62 in Waxhaw at the post office when I was going in, he was coming out. Anyone on here? Got the thumbs up, I was in my 62 as well.

For those who'd like to see the Cruisers (or the MR2s if anyone cares, lol) you can see them both (bottom of the page has links to each one's individual page). www.backyardmr2parts.com

Nice and welcome to the group! Great looking rigs and MR2.

Nice looking yotas. Still wish id grabbed up a JDM MKII a year back or so built by another club member.

thats a clean 62 and NC the whole time it looks like.

What the?? How did I miss a parts truck on CL I check that thing daily

Anyway cool trucks and I actually have an extra 92 diff. Shoot me a line when you are ready for it.

Thanks for the nice comments on the Cruisers and the MR2s!

I got wayyyy too good of a deal on that 92... it actually floated on craigslist for a day or so before I got the guy's number... he didn't have one listed so I e-mailed then he got me his number. Said he had several folks come by and want just parts (rear gate, 3rd row fold down seats, etc) and he told me over the phone the interior was "trashed." I checked it out and the leather isn't bad other than the seat bottoms on the front, good dash, original stereo was in the passenger seat, cd changer was missing, and one door panel needs some tlc and an arm pad and the whole thing needed a major cleaning from sitting for about 5 years. Didn't haggle with him one bit, it was worth every bit what he was asking (actually a lot more). Has some pretty good Michelins on the stock wheels to boot! Sounded like an Austrailian fellow by the accent. Nice guy, told me I should be able to get the title and all that, but he never had tried... didn't want to put money into the truck. He had a nice bright red Tacoma and he helped us load the Cruiser up when I came back with the trailer. I really lucked out on it... he said dealers were calling and wanting parts from it the day I came by to check out the truck and to put a few bucks down on it so he'd hold it for me for a few days until I came back with a trailer and an f150 (that was funny to see going down 485). Pulled it home, washed it and am going to go check on the paperwork for a title next. Didn't want to start putting money into it until I have a title in hand. I'll definately be in touch on the 92 diff. :) That's what caused this sucker to get parked to begin with. Thanks guys, looking forward to meeting some of you guys soon!

Welcome to Mud .

Met the local Sherrif there when we were doing parade a year or 2 back. He introduced me to the man that owns the Ford Mustang Super Snake locally. That was a Mustang.

Nice place over there ya'll got.

Thanks much! It is a nice litle place. Our county has grown a lot, but there are still good sized pockets (like Mineral Springs) where everything hasn't turned into a shopping center or 400 house development. You'd probably appreciate the 65 Mustang fastback we're restomodding right now in the shop. Dropping in a 500 horsepower wicked bad 302... all motor :). Gonna have to run the car on race fuel, but I'm building it to sell anyway, so the new owner can enjoy filling that up instead of me. The car has fiberglass front fenders (with fender flares), trunk, hood, front valence, and lip spoiler, so it looks the restomoded part. I'm going to hate to see it go, but I'd like to free up some cash and I need to let go of a vehicle or two. It is getting crowded around here. Was that Sherrif Eddie Cathy you met?

Welcome to the board and the club, looks like you have a few nice tractors there as well. Looks as if the Farmall has been restored.

Hope you can make it out to a few up the upcoming events and meet the great members that have made this club what it is today.

Look forward to meeting you.

I'm definately going to try to make some events soon. You're right on about the Farmall Cub... Dad restored that one a few years back, and he just finished up an Allis-Chalmers G that looks unbelieveable. Dad is wanting to get to the John Deere 40 and the Super M eventually. The G now lives in the shop to keep it from getting weathered sitting out under the shed. I've got a few pictures of the shop I need to link to so you guys can see where we work on all this stuff at, but that site has all my pictures down right now for some reason, so I'll post a link after it starts working again.

Looking forward to meeting you fellas as well :).

I had a 1985 MR2 in High School, back in mid 1987. I loved that car. It was so much fun to drive. They are becoming and more rare. I have not seen one in a long time.

Yours looks great. Great mods.

Need pics of mustang and that motor!

Just a little update... will have said requested pics of the Mustang up and online asap. Leaving for a halloween party right now though but I took a good many shots of the motor (500hp 302ci N/A motor that runs on race fuel) and car today. Even took a shot of the huge roller rockers and the massive stud girdle... I've honestly never seen anything that hefty on a small block before. It still blows me away. Can't wait to hear it run in my car instead of the drag car it came out of. Only has 2 miles on the motor and I couldn't have built it for twice what we paid for it. It has 0 miles since getting fresh bearings and whatnot though. Looks like new inside and out!!
