I'm trying to resurrect the a/c on my '89 FJ62 after over 15 years of all the parts having followed me around in boxes all that time. Parts I have: new compressor, new drier, original good condenser but I appear to be missing a hose that goes from the condenser to the drier..?? I have both long hoses that come off the firewall...one going to the compressor and one going to the drier. I have the short hose with the right angle U-shaped bend that connects the condenser to the compressor. I have the all metal tube which connects on the far side of the condenser and crosses in front of it but apparently NOT the one that connects to the other end and passes through the hole in the radiator support to allow connecting it to the other side of the drier line. Does anyone have a diagram or picture of that particular hose?? The Specter diagrams show hoses for the 60 but not the 62....the condenser being different. I'm going out to "dig" through more boxes but it would help to have a pic or diagram. Thanks.

I have all the pieces in my garage from when I gutted my A/C. I can probably find the ones you need and take pictures. pm me for ph # and I can send pics this evening.

OK.......pm sent, thanks!

Problem solved! Thanks Randy.

dont forget to de-crap the blower inlet and blower housing...there were 4 pounds of decay in my blower and 2 more pounds in the evap suitcase... good luck, take your time, remove as much dash as needed and don't forget to replace the switches in the suitcase...you don't want to need to get back in there. ever.

Gee........thanks! You just had to add that huh??

Are you converting to 134A or are you staying R-12? Don't forget all new O-rings and get the correct ones for the refrigerant you are using. You also should replace the oil and use the correct oil for the refrigerant you go with. I stayed R-12 when I did mine and I was happy to have frigid air again in the cruiser. Good luck.

I redid mine in R12...snowballs...

The Denso compressor is new and for R134. New drier too. All new seals installed and fittings cleaned and ready. I'll have a local shop add the oil check everything and evacuate and check for leaks before adding the refrigerant. I have not had a/c in almost 20 years. Burned it up near Randsberg so long ago. I thought you couldn't get R12 anymore?

Maybe you can't... we drive landcruisers, not roadblocks...220, 221 whatever it takes!

134 is easy. A ship may tell you you have to swap the condenser, but others have converted without. I got a new core and pressure switch from partsgeek for about 100 bucks for denso brand

I also went 134. Got a new condenser to replace my leaking one. $149 for exact oem replacement from Partsgeek. I am chillin now for the first time in about 15 years.:smokin:

BTW.....If anyone has the 2 a/c hose clamps(one connects to the battery hold down and the other on the side by the air filter housing) I still need those 2 parts. ??:meh:

Hi Randy, Do you have the 25” tube (88716-90A43) that runs across the front of the condenser?

WoodnotRust
I do not.
