Looking at one tonite and it is cheap with the exception of a blown head gasket.

My question is how hard will it be to replace one? I will be doing the work myself and
have never done one on a 2F. The rest of the truck is in good shape. He is asking
$1500 obo for it. So if i can get it cheap enough would it be worth fixing. i will
be taking pics tonite and posting. Is there anything else i should look at when i am there
to be aware of as a result of it blowing? any help is really appreciated...

thx

Definately has to be in good shape, hopefully without rust. I remember that one guy on here bought one with a blown head gasket that was rust free with a big lift on it for less than 1G.

Be careful.

I would pass on it. Chances are it will need more then cost of a gasket to get it running. It would be worth paying a extra $500 to get something that is running.
If it is really clean and nice body with no lift or any nice upgrades, then I would offer around $1000.
