Fj60 sleeping platform and drawer set up

Just wanted to share the sleeping platform/drawer I put together in my 60. All base & drawer were assembled with 3/4”plywood and the top is 1/2”. Not sure if the piano hinge is gonna last, but I’m happy with how the front supports came out with conduit and clamps.

nicely done, looks very serviceable. re: the hinges, may i suggest using 4 or 5 door hinges thru bolted with machine screws rather than trusting the 1/2" #6 at most wood screws to hold in 1/2" ply . that's just my 50yrs plus as a carpenter talking. that conduit support dealio is a very simple solution. nicely executed

Thank you! I don’t love the piano hinge, but we will see how it holds up. I like the door hinge idea

Here’s one before I finished the front half of the platform, I’m thinking about putting a divider or two in there to help keep things organized.

Hey Ryan, @rlocke49 older thread here but I am curious how you are accessing the driver side storage areas or did you just forego it?
great execution on this by the way.
I have a bunch of that maker pipe left over from a project, thanks for reminding me about it.
Also, I spend my summers up at our property outside of Angel Fire. If you ever want to get together let me know.

Thank you! I can still get the door off for the drivers side storage, admittedly I don’t use it for much these days though. Angel fire is beautiful, if I find myself in that neck of the woods Id be happy to meet up and talk Toyotas!
