Hello Mud,
I've been searching forever for my first Land Cruiser and finally have $5000 cash freed up to actually pull the trigger on a purchase. That said, I know it's not a huge amount, but I don't need anything that's going to win a beauty pageant. This Cruiser would be a third vehicle for trails, occasional drives to work, and beach/camping/hiking trips. I have always loved working on vehicles despite rarely having the opportunity outside of friends' Jeeps, so I am absolutely excited and willing to learn to fix this LC for years to come.
(I creep the classifieds here, Craigslist, and Facebook marketplace like a madman, so I'm putting in my own effort, no worries!)
What I am interested in...
An FJ60 or 62 that has been converted to manual (I'll also be posting a wanted ad in the FJ80 section to appease the wife, who prefers those)
Minimal rust, or at least rust that can eventually be repaired by someone who is learning to weld
Clean, rust free frame
Reliable and operational enough that it can drive back home as I have no methods of towing
I know some of you guys have to be running out of space in your driveway or garage! (I see those page long signatures listing your twelve Cruisers
) Turn that poor pig into a young adventurer's first rig! Thanks all for your time and consideration.
