I need to replace the cigarette lighter in my '40

FWIW, mine didn't work for years, I took it out, it was exactly like the aftermarket ones with a round pin on the back for the hot lead. You can probably find one that'll work and look good at your local parts store.

I put it back in and CONNECTED the hot lead and it worked! Guess I had yanked the wire off sometime over the years.

I need a good winch for a '40

Keep your eyes and ears open for a good used one. I snagged a WARN 8274 several years ago for $200. It needed to be rebuilt, and a new cable (went with rope) but all the parts are available from WARN. The guy was more interested in getting the crap cleared out from his house than he was in squeezing every last dollar out of me.

Need Vaccum Solenoids for fj62

Again, my vac solenoids are out on my fj62 and the only way I can engage 4 wheel drive is to switch the hoses around. If anyone has this piece they can sell me let me know. Thanks Matt mevans8@utk.edu Trying to avoid paying dealer cost and even the cost that cruiser parts.net is offering for the part. :-\

birfield needed

:D Just got mine from Travis Rankin, the Smurfield guy. It went in real easy, and I'm happy so far. Paid $115 shipped to my door without a core. I'll probably do the other side soon. HTH.

Need an EZ-Locker...

:slap: Why go used when a new aussie is 2 bills?? Brand affinity? Just curious.

axle: mini truck or 40 (with disks)

Have a set of disk brakes up in ebay for a 40 right now and have a set of mini truck disk brakes that will be going up for sale soon also. Both need rebuilds.

here is the item number for the 78 FJ40 Disk brakes 2434066493
let me know if you still need something.

Need an EZ-Locker...

Well, since they have extended the intro price of $199, I may do just that. I was hoping for as good-a-deal as I got on my current EZ-Locker :D to save money but now that I have more time... We'll see.

Jody.

I need a good winch for a '40

Not sure if it's the same down there but....

Up here in the Great White North, when say the forestry trucks get traded in for a new fleet every once in a while, they strip all the old winches off the trucks. They were selling some 8274's that didn't look abused at all.

So might want to check some of the dealerships? This particular bunch was at a Ford dealer.

HTH

Re:I need a good winch for a '40

i have a ramsey pto, i believe it was installed by the dealership when truck was new. that's what the previous owner told me. $450. shipping from 52404.

manual shift fork and shifting linkage

i'm looking for the manual shift fork that mounts on the nose cone of the t-case, it only came on the 72's and 73's FJ40's, and the linkages off the 4-sp t-cases IIRC. this is what i'm told i need to complete my automatic conversion.

manual shift fork and shifting linkage

Do you have any transfer case parts right now? The shift fork rod which mounts on the transfer front extension is shorter on the older models but the actual fork itself is the same and is interchangeable. Do you need the shorter rod or the whole fork, rod, and housing assembly? I have everything but the actual fork itself for the three speed (older pre '74/75 transfer case). I also have the three speed linkage which mounts to this housing as well if you need it.
The three speed front extension and four speed linkages will NOT MATE when mounted on a four speed transmission (I know 'cause I tried).
If interested send me a PM

Wanted- Clear Fj40 Title

I just bought a 75 Fj40 and it has no title. This vechile changed hands more than once and the title was lost by one of the owners. If somebody has a clear title and vin plate that goes on the drivers side door please contact me via email. The state that I live in won't do reconstructed titles. So if anybody can help me out, I'll make it worth your while. I live in Pa. Thanks, Pete
