i have a very nice frame. wiper motor mounts on the bottom i can send pics if you email me (jayoung@usd.edu) there is no rust and the paint actually still looks very good. I have other body parts too if you are interested

Need the brass ring under back of birf housing and hubs

I need the brass ring that fits behind the birfield housing on a disk brake front end (1978 FJ55).

This is the brass colored ring that sits under the rubber ring which is just under the felt (next is the split ring)at the far interior of the birfield setup. Mine was missing on my front end. No wonder it leaked so much.

I also need a set of disk brake hubs for a 78' or newer fine spline setup. I prefer Aisin or OEM steel housing setup.
 
HELP!!! I NEED A STOCK ROLL BAR

I have a stock roll bar from a 79 FJ40. It needs to be cleaned up and painted but everything is there. Can take some pics of it tomorrow and post. I am in CT. Will ship it UPS if they will take it..maybe to big. I know they have and "oversize" way to ship so i maybe able to use that. Have to check and see. 100.00 for the rollbar plus shipping. It goes on ebay this weekend if you don't want it.

Warn 8274 Mounting Plate

Warn stopped making that style mounting plate, with the embossed "W" on the front in the late 80's. I was looking for one in 1993 and was told that by a distributor here in Minnesota. That was a "universal" mounting plate that Warn used in many applications. You may be able to put posts out on other forums, and find someone with one yet. They did make one for a while that did not have the "W" stamped in it, but that was not for very long.

Curious, what is your reason for not wanting the winch "below" the bumper?

Later model 40's had an option of an electric winch, and the bumper that Toyota sold, resembles many of the aftermarket ones that are available. A .250-inch thick plate that the winch bolts to, and .1875-inch thick formed channel. I am pretty sure that I have seen this set up in the parts books. They had a winch option that resembled the 8274, if it was not the same unit.

This piece that you talk about is steel, not brass, and it is a one piece, split metal ring that if you were to happen find someone with a front end sitting in parts someplace, you could grab one and use it. Be careful removing it, as it is one piece, that is split, and needs to be worked off the knuckle in a circular motion as to not damage it, and be able to use it again.

Thanks for the reply and the info. I don't really have a good reason for not wanting a thru-bumper, between the frame rail mount for the 8274 other than I just seem to like the way the mount above looks. Again, not a real good reason, but something I have stuck in my head all the same. I'm going to do a little more posting and searching and if I come up empty handed, I'll just go with the same set-up everyone else has. :D

very little, it actaully was on my fj45, but I swaped the 8274 that came on the 82 fj40 to the 45 and then new 8274-50 to the fj40.

thanks, yes it's a nice (unrestored btw)40, so is my mustard 82 fj40

Oil Cooler for 3FE

Looking for a stock oil cooler for a 3FE engine. Bolts to oil filter housing with 2 banjo bolts and has inlet and outlet for coolant hoses. Anyone got one they don't need that isn't rusted out?
