I called all around LA this morning and no body keeps them in stock. Expedition Exchange want's $490 and then they still want you to pay for the shipping! I called TJM USA and they don't sell direct except for blems and they don't have any for the FZJ80's. So it looks like everywhere you buy - you also have to pay for shipping. Anyone want a group buy?
I just installed one of Mark's Metal Tech family cages and am looking for a new bikini top. I need a long one that will go from the windshield all the way to the back of the truck. Does anyone know where I can find one?
For what it's worth I would have tossed it as well. Glad to hear you like the Borla system. Your description is exactly what I am looking for, subtle increase in tone, but not over bearing. Any noticeable HP gain? Also, the pics that I have seen of the system (performance products catalog) show the wider tip on the end of the pipe. How does that look compared to the stock pipe? Again, I am looking for a subtle upgrade, not the bling effect. Any pics to post?
Now if it would just arrive at my door…..

I believe I have the older tip style. It's all dented now anyway, but there's a larger diameter "shroud/flange" around the base tip. Looks cooler than stock for sure, but I think it's a bit long. It does get hung up on things. It's not the design I've seen on some other pipes with those 4 pieces that connect to the outer piece. Not sure about an increase in HP. I'd like to think so, combined with the Aircharger, throttle body spacer and Jet chip, but at the very least, it sounds more powerful! I'll be using the truck this weekend, so I'll get some pix then.
YES! What about 4x4Connection? They have it on sale and maybe we can get them to lower shipping cost with a group buy. I am getting ready to buy one anyway...

I can probably yank the handle off mine since I'll be welding the tailgate in place if I ever put it back on. Do you need the mechanism from the sinde too? Shoot me a pm.
TPI and SOR both have family bikini tops. I have the one from TPI, and if I had to do it again, I'd get the one from SOR.
The SOR one has more straps holding it to the cage. The rear straps on the TPI top are too long. But the main reason to me is that the SOR top uses the "Tiger" channel which utilizes the plastic strip on the front of the top. You just clip it into the channel as opposed to the TPI one which has to be fed into the side of the channel and slid in. It's a pain cause it's vinyl covered and it takes a lot of messing with it to get it in. If you're putting it on and leaving it on all summer, then it's no big deal.
The TPI one also sticks out way past the channel, so you can't snug down the sides very well so it flaps.
But the TPI one is also half the price of the SOR one. I'd say that if it's a trail only top, the TPI one is fine. If you're doing any highway driving, you'll like the SOR one better.
Pretty keen eye there,
Yeah I would donate to the cause but my cruiser is pretty original with most of the factory goodies, it only has 78,000 original miles, i have the orig Spare with dunlop tire, tool bag with grease gun, trouble light etc...... If i ever decide to take it off its yours.
