'79 40 Parts Needed in MA (New England) Area
Hi, I am in need of several parts for my 79 FJ40. If you have some parts that are laying around in your garage that you would like to sell or get rid of, and are relatively close to MA, please PM me with a list. If I need them, I will certainly try to take them off your hands.
Here is a rough list of what I can think of off the top of my head:
Hard top side (s)
Seatbelts
Tub (I know, its a big part.)
Defroster dash pieces (Driver and passgr.)
Rubber pedal covers
Badges (All)
Tcase Shifter knob w/sticker
5 stock rims
Tire carrier
center console
stock oil cap for valve cover
Any non-rusted or zinc plated metric bolts that came from some of your parted out cruisers would be great too.
I know that there are many more parts I have not listed that I am sure I will need. I am restoring this cruiser with money my grandfather left me after he passed away last year. I named it after him and want to do as good of a job as possible.
I have been working on rigs for several years now, but this is my first attempt at a restoration and I dont want to screw it up.
Any help with these parts would be great!

i've got a spare carrier in excellent condition, a center console (needs to be cleaned, but not broken or tweaked badly, and a bunch of good bolts froma cruiser i parted and i might have a new aftermarket throttle pad. all parts in denver $75 for the tire carrier (includes the little bracket under the doors on the rear sill), $15 for the rest of the stuff.

Are you retrofitting e-lockers into your '92 FJ80....or maybe someone else already has? And you have the locking diff in the axle and the actuator is missing or broken or something? It's just that 92s didn't come with the e-lockers, so I am just wondering... Anyway, I have found a few complete e-locker diffs using www.car-part.com. You can't search for just the actuator, but you could search for the locking diff (BTW, use "Carrier" for the search) and then call the places that come up as having one, and phone them and see if they can help ya. It's highly unlikely that anyone will just have the actuator for sale on this board, but I bet an auto yard would. Just my opinion. If I find anything while I'm checking around, I'll post up.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this, nuclearlemon.
I didn't know how to get my notifications, and, I got hit by that worm and my new computer is hibernating. I had to get the old one out of storage.

I have one that I have been saving till I build up an FJ I have that is completely burnt down. It's nasty looking because the previous owner slopped black silicone all around the rim. I suppose it must have had a leak. It's watertight!
My brother has one with a hole in the RRear corner just about the size to stuff your head through.
How bad do you need one? When he looked into replacing it he was quoted $1500. ugh!! He bought a soft top! What would a top be worth to ya?
