My fj60 is blowing the fusible link immediately, even with ignition off.
We first discovered this after replacing the alternator with a 1-wire GM.
The last crummy rebuild could not get charging voltage up.
According to Haynes, this is the larger one, white wire, goes to:

main relay
heater 30A CB
stop l, 15A fuse
headlight cleaner motor
taillight relay
dome 7.5A

Where is the main relay located?
Any clues on following the White Wire around without cutting the
harness everywhere?
Anybody have experience of a likely culprit for this failure?

Thanks for any clues,

Max and Stuart Kreitman.

Did you ever figure this one out - I know your post is old, but I am having a similar problem. Just curious how you resolved it.

That white wire you are talking about goes to your alternator. You are grounding out on that somewhere. Check your leads from the Bat. or near the batt and the alt. lead. It is hot at all times and that is why you are popping the link.
