Hi all, I have a question for all you conversion people. I'm currently doing a frame off restoration on a 1979 FJ 40.

I have a line on a few good 60 series ( 1984 models) Low KM but both vehicles are a roll over right off. Bottom line 2K for the entire vehicle.

I was contemplating wether or not I a 60 series drive line would fit in a FJ 40 Frame. I understand the fabrication end and wouldn't have a problem with the work, but has anyone done one???

both the 79 FJ40 and the FJ60 series used the 2F motor and 4-speed trans, should drop right in. Only issue will be driveshaft attachments, not positive that the bolt pattern is the same. The 60 uses the better/stronger split transfer case, 79 (I think) still uses the weaker 1-piece t-case.
