Well, I've gotten distracted with my my dash job and it started some time ago. I've basically pulled the dash all the way apart and installed a re-cored heater core. That started in time a while back and now I've gotten the heater core installed and plumbed. I'm in process of re-installing the various other dash components / parts, hoses, .....etc. I should have taken some more detailed pics but given the span of time and my impatience once I got started...that did not happen. I've had to deal various other things along the way and so the truck has been apart longer than I would have liked. I have another thread about the heater core biz.

Anyway if you have any pics or diagrams that show the "exploded dash" or details about the dash please post here. I'm looking for pics/diagrams that show the components behind/below the dash pad, behind and below the main dash exterior parts like the ac/control panel, and the various exterior parts you see from sitting in the vehicle. ...literally whats behind that as far as parts/pieces/ duct work / components. Etc. I have all the parts, but it would be helpful if anyone has some good pics or diagrams. I know some of you guys who work on these things likley know the parts location from memory and learned that over time from the school of hard knocks.

Obviously I'm trying to avoid the issues of multiple starts and stops, having to go back and forth and take things apart because I missed some magic part that is 5 layers deep in the pile of things.

well I figured there was not much around, other than self-made pics.

thanks for posting that link I see something right off the bat thats helpful. If I can figure out how to print it ...that will be great or if I can potentially get it to print on a larger format piece of paper that too, would be great.

I'm going to post up four brackets I would like help on. Either some pics on how they look installed or advice. I'll post up what I recall as far as notes on each pic. Brkt 1. This one bolts to the trans tunnel there on the drivers side and then bolts to the lip / stud at the top by the bottom of the windshield...just not recalling what bolts to it.

Sorry for the duplication on the narrative/edits above, word editor not working too smooth. I'll see if I can find my shop manual somewhere and see what it shows.

thanks guys....I'll have to drag my computer over to the shop and compare pics.

I belive the last bracket I was looking for help on is located with the throttle cable....I see what I think is it in the attached link above to teh parts listing. my post above #7. Why I took this off, with the dash business I don't recall, other that it must be in the way . It also might be related to the choke cable. Anyway I wanted to post up....thanks for all the tips. I'm headed up to the shop in a little bit to see how much headway I make.

It's for the hand throttle. The end of the sleeve fits in the notch.

thanks for the feedback eeryone, got the dash back together ...2nd pic is a little blurry. Anyway looks like so far I don't have any extra parts. I'm thinking about leaving the throttle cable out (hand throttle) and removing the choke cable. I need to round up a few screws for some misc dash stuff around the ac control head. and deal with the pocket that goes there right by the a/c control head. Drove the truck and everything works that should (my v8 swap)..I'm not using the OEM temp or oil pressure guage...). I've to to troubleshoot the a/c.
