Looks like I will be replacing my blower motor on my Cruiser. Does anybody know of a simple newer higher output blower motor. I can handle the wiring up grade I'm just looking for a better motor. I did use the search function and faq.
Thanks
I'm not sure why you'd want to upgrade the blower - thing spits like a leaf blower. Your old one was probably just shot, putting out very little ooomph (technical term)
x2. Are you sure you have turned to blower all the way on? You might try bypassing the switch and bringing 12V directly to the motor to get the full speed. could be something wrong with your switch or resistor that contorls the speed.
Honestly an OEM spec Denso or Bosch motor will work great. Like was already said, the damn thing's a leaf blower as long as the ducts (or heater core & A/C evaporator) don't have leaves and gunk clogging up the works.
For the longest time I've wanted to modify my air system to allow for a cabin air filter so I could avoid crap building up in there (even just down to prevent dust buildup). Sadly, I could see no way to do it.
It has never blown like a leaf blower in the 10+ years I have owned it. I have done some minor cleaning of the evaporator core but I know I need to remove it and do a through cleaning. I do have full battery voltage at the terminals with the blower motor on full speed (voltage drop test) so just time for a new motor. I will disassemble it to see if it is fixable. I do remember reading some where to re seal all the vent connections to help increase air flow. Ill try that as well.
Thanks
