Hey Guys

Anyone know exactly what kind of compressor the FJ60 one is and if it was available with a dual v belt pulley instead of the single v belt that comes stock? I am looking for a dual v belt pulley to bolt onto the stock compressor to run my York from.

Any ideas? Is the stock compressor a Sanden?

Thanks

Stock compressor is a Nippondenso. Common to many Asian cars. You likely will NOT be able to find a dual groove pulley though. You need the correct offset if you do switch.

Stock compressor is a Nippondenso.

Depends on the year-and who knows what else. My '83 had a stock, unnamed compressor that apparently was installed as a dealer-installed option on a 2 groove crankshaft pulley. (Un-named in that there was no sticker left to ID it, and no numbers cast into the case.)

Alt is at 8 oclock, a/c at 10 on mine, with the a/c, alt and water pump on one v-belt, and the p/s and air pump on the other. While this is technically "stock" as it was installed by the dealer, there must be only a handful of these out there, with the resultant parts and configuration issues for folks like me unlucky enough to get one.

It failed of course earlier this summer, as did the search for a direct replacement: the Nippodenso on factory a/c cruisers doesn't work due to pulley clearance and lack of a thrird crankshaft v-belt groove (I bought one to see).

I'm just now getting a Sandan universal installed-it has twin grooves thankfully; just gotta get new a/c hoses made etc., and it will be ready for.....winter, sigh.

Maj-thanks, I had been told that before. The comp didn't look like any York I had ever seen before however, and both the clutch and compressor failed, so.....

Cruc,

Lowtideride has a similar setup under his hood ... His compressor I believe is a York ...
