Do it up!

I've got the part numbers for the 80 series brake pedal, clutch pedal assembly and master cylinder, even have some used spares on the shelf. Maybe even the flywheel and bellhousing you need  IIRC there is a clutch fork you can use in the van that @jfz80 might not mind parting with.

You buy it yet? If not, go buy it!

Honestly I would but I've been to that lot twice and left my number both times and nobody has told me anything about it or even called me back. Kinda frustrating trying to buy something that's for sale and no one will communicate with you.

Use it to your advantage. Go in there with cash and TELL them the deal, take it or leave it and be done with it.

Take a trailer

I I think they are a hair over 2k if you use our discount at Toyota. Not sure on exact price but closer to 2 than 3. But with the 80 you would need to source other parts as well.

Just paid around $2200 with tax at Scott Clark after the club discount about a month ago.

A splitcase from 60 series would be the best to use. I don't think you need new driveshafts and could just lengthen/shorten the ones that are in there. The 3fe switched to larger flywheel bolts in 89/90 so you would have to get hte 60 series flywheel bolt holes bored out. I think the 80 series pedal bucket and console would be the hardest parts to find.

Well after getting aggravated trying to talk with the lot where the 92 was I decided to give up on that one. Started looking hot and heavy for a reasonably priced locked 80 and came across a locked 97 collectors edition on eBay in Pennsylvania, yes Pennsylvania. The guy that had it listed had put up several good videos showing the condition of the truck and I had a good feeling that it had somehow escaped the curse of the rust belt. I contacted him about ending the auction early and selling it out right and a few phone calls later we had a tentative deal and the next day(yesterday) @jfz80 and myself were headed north in a one way rental car. A big thanks to Jason for his willingness to head up there with me and spend roughly 18 hours on the road. We even spotted @beno somewhere in northern Virginia trucking it south on our way north. When we got there we were both kinda worried As to how we would find the condition of the 80 but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and the guy had represented it will in the videos. So we stuck to the deal and drove it back to NC. Oh, did I mention we drove it all the way back with no tags? My insurance agent told me all I needed was something with my policy number but the PA license plate agency told me they were wrong and would not issue me a temporary tag so off we went without one. We left yesterday at 10am and got home at 3:45 this morning, long day but good times pretty scenery and a lot of damn good stories.

Wow. Nice Steve! That Jason guy is a pretty good dude :D

Great looking truck, Steve. Jealous.

Thanks guys! The pictures make it it look really good but she's got a few issues here and there

Good deal Steve, sounds like a trip I took to Pittsburgh once for a 40. Looks pretty clean.

How could i pass up another opportunity to go with Steve to buy an 80. Its kinda like a tradition now :)

And as tradition dictates as well pieces started falling off as soon as it hit the driveway ..... Or as soon as we recovered from the trip and rounded up some help

And Morris has already claimed this one. Sorry fellas (but you know stefan will get the itch for a new one before then)

Does my heart good seeing the photos of you wrenching with your boys. I started out with my dad in the garage at age 4. That is where I learned "look but don't touch" and then learned how to touch. I think of those times with my father often.

Love it :)

If you want to remember the 80s, go watch "Stranger Things" on Netflix - - These kids are like exactly my age back then :)

Thought I would update this thread a little as the baselining continues with a few upgrades. Replaced the dented stock front bumper with a pretty clean one from I got from @Mtbcoach had it repainted and slapped it on a couple weeks ago.

Then replaced the leaky dizzy o-ring, really easy job if anyone is hesitant about doing it.

Not really baseline related or an upgrade but couldn't resist the picture. Deuces wild!

Then replaced the plugs and plug wires with OEM. Someone previously really overtightened the old plugs, really tight coming out from start to finish. Thought for sure a couple were going to break off or even worse possibly strip out the threads in the head.

Old plug wires were shot, hard to believe the 1FZ was running fairly smooth with a couple of the wires in this condition.
