Driving up through Mexico. My transfer case failed. It is modified for a th350 transmission. Looking for another transfer case or if someone knows another way... can I make additional modifications to make this work another way? I’m having a very hard time finding another Toyota transfer case.. please help! Thanks.

What you have is the rarest TH350 adapter on the planet, It is one of the very first adapters Downey Off Road Mfg made in the early 1970's. We made exactly one batch of those adapters before we completely changed over to our much nicer 1" thick adapters that use all the stock Landcruiser transfer-case gears intact. The problem you have is; if you break that input gear or the internally splined hub it is mounted on- - -there is no replacement. Hope your problem is somewhere else in the transfer-case Bro.

wow ok. I believe the problem is somewhere else in the transfer case. But I cannot find another Toyota transfer case at the moment.

can I somehow use a different transfer case? Maybe a Chevy transfer case?

What transfer do you need. I have a 4speed. Located in Phoenix

He can't use a 4 speed transfer-case, as I recall this adapter gear was only made for the 3 speed transfer-cases before Landcruisers had a 4 speed tranny.

Count the teeth on the gear in the picture and also on the right side of the transfer case is a flat spot with a date code and serial number. Post those up.

So these were even earlier than the transition case? I have three speed transfer cases in the Phoenix area.

I have a 700r4 adapter, you’d love the 700r4 but you’d have to get the driveshafts re- done
The goal at this point is to get this thing shipped up into Texas. Find a good Landcruiser mechanic and get a 700r4 put in. I won’t be doing much off roading anymore at all and sounds like it would make the most sense for me.. first things first is get the damn thing out of Mexico! 🤪

And if you did want to do some more wheeling the 700r4 is still the best choice, lower first gear than you have now, will take more torque than what you have now, then has the bonus overdrive high gear, not much to think about.

Also, I won’t know until I get back to my computer, but I believe I have the last Downey 1” adapter for 700r4 in my eBay store, otherwise your stuck with an AA 7” long adapter ( translation: 6” shorter rear drive shaft- - poo poo idea).

Yep, I have it, ebay #254734750303, probably last one on earth, hope you have the funds to grab it before it's gone.
