I know this has been asked before, but maybe it's time to ask again. I am mounting an AutoMeter electronic speedo. I want to use the AutoMeter 5291 speed sender. The best fit would be a six inch or so cable from the tcase to the sender to get it away from the parking brake backing plate.

Is someone making such a beast yet? I'm sure I can find a shop to custom make one, but surely a Mud vendor already has this?

why does it need to be away from the backing plate????

It doesn't necessarily need to be away from the back plate. It needs to be away from the parking brake cable.

Because, on most stock set ups, the parking cable interferes with the mounting of the autometer. That is why I rotated the back plate. It just moved the cable out of the way.

Looks like rotating the backing plate is the best way to go. I do need a longer parking brake cable anyway so might as well bite the bullet and do them both at once.

Thanks for your replies.

if you rotate the backing plate you might need a longer cable. you might want to check before buying the cable. they are not that expensive to have made

Just one more item in a long list of things to spend money on. It'll have to wait a bit. I'll have to find some vendors to make a new cable too.

I only rotated mine roughly an inch or so. Just drilled new holes.

I did NOT need a longer cable. Again, check out the thread linked above.

Thanks for that idea. My cable doesn't reach as it is. I need to make it about 6" longer because of a 700R4 transmission install.
