Believe that is no. 38 the vacuum switch.

We are putting the wiring harness back together and back in the '73 FJ. We have a plug, it is #36 on the schematic and it is the SPARK CONTROL COMPUTER.

It does not show up in the Chilton's manual. I googled it and nothing. I have searched on Ih8mud and nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This shows on Haynes in a box marked FJ40L A. The A is for US market, mainly differences with our emissions requirements. Remember that vacuum coming in a box of items when I purchased my 73 FST. May have been spark control in the box as well. The original 73 engine was told it was tired and replaced with a 75 F155. The original engine was laying in the back. The engine has a resistor attached to the coil. When starting the resistor is bypassed but in the ignition circuit when running. If the original setup had been more of a ignitor attached to the coil. My 73 was not original.

What does the male end of the plug look like? 6 terminals based on the wiring diagram.
Does it look like the photo below?

That looks to be a 9/71-9/72 emissions computer. I see 89550-60011 for the 9/72-9/73. That does look like the right part but the wrong year. By the diagram I'm seeing looks like it would mount to the inside of the firewall on the driver's side.
