FJ40 roof

Hello I have a 1968 fj40 and the roof guttering has a lot of rust in it.
I was wondering if i used a 1980 model roof or something around there would it fit on the 1968 model

The roof should be fine however, the front windshield channel is completely different for sure.

I was about to start a thread with a few compatibility questions myself. I came a cross a really nice deal on a complete hard top in great condition but it is for late 60's. Most likely wouldn't fit my 1980 after reading this.

You can buy a new w/s channel from ccot and install and it will fit a later model. Just takes a little work .

FYI...58 through 65 hardtops are different than 66 and later.

this is what my roof guttering looks like and i dont know if the rusty bit can be detached from the fibre glass roof and replaced with a later model guttering its the back and sides which are bad the windscreen channel is fine
