spud, this is the way to get the experience. just ask the guys... guys, dont i have a ton of off camber experience? total pro at it?
seriously though... totally the way to get used to the pucker factor, get out there!
I appreciate that, and I agree.
But if someone is going to organize a ride and state that you need lockers...I'm not going to show up with no lockers, (and limited wheeling experience). I dont wanna be the one that holds up a group.
Maybe if I had the experience, and confidence that goes with it, I might show up without the Locked advantage.
Being new to this, it is hard to guage how hard a trail you all are hittin.
Example: I showed up for a jeep get together at the backyard this spring, thinkin' that I did'nt need lockers and more than 33's...I mean after hearing all the stuff written here, (again without wheeling experience), I was like shoot I have a 40, I can do anything a jeep could do and more right.

, well it was a reality check for me when I saw the rigs with 40" tires and all, then we walked around to the entrance to the trails to see boulders like 2-3ft high that you had to drive over/through

....Holy Cow, now I have some respect for the ones hittin those trails.
When someone wants to do some trails that dont "require" lockers, and they dont mind teaching some stuff, I would like to go. I'm in Sullivan county NH now, but will be bringing my 40 back to CT in the next month or so. So I may have to wait for some opportunities in the Spring. Just for the record, I am not a total novice, just the experience I have has mostly been on my own through class6 roads and on my land, so seeing how my experience/skills relate to others will be cool for me to see. Maybe I am OK???
