Hi Kev, just a tip in case you did not know.....I have found that using 4"-6" PVC pipe (sch 40 or 80) allows for a few layers of bubble wrap for a nice tight but cushioned ride in a very rigid tube. We all probably know how UPS & FedEx like to toss packages around, so this offers good protection for drive shafts. I usually just tape the ends but you could use PVC caps as well.

I have always found success with using a USPS flat rate large game box. I can usually ship 2 driveshafts in one box. I pad and stretch wrap the ends. I fill the rest with tightly packed paper. Because of the weight and how packages get thrown around I stretch wrap the entire exterior and seal with tape. Those boogers are heavy and regular shipping would run the cost right up.
