I have a used Aqualu storage tailgate for sale that was on my FJ-40. It is in good shape with all the mounting hardware and hinges. It is the diamond plate version. $400

Not to derail your sales thread but can you snap a few shots of how you have the tail gate latches secured to the inside of the tub?

No worries, I took the tailgate off then I started the resto job. The latches are secured to the inside lip of the tub with 2 1/4" bolts. The actual brackets look like small aluminum angle iron ~ 1/4" thick. It was very sturdy when closed.

How far over are the hinges from the inside edge of the tub? Trying to figure out if the hinges will interfere with the later style spare tire carrier.

it is 2-3/4" from the outside edge of the tailgate to the outside edge of the hinge and 6" to the inside of the hinge from the edge of the tailgate.
