FJ40 81 Carb Rebuild Help

as soon as i touched the emission control box, I heard a click. Wiggling the box continued to produce the clicking.

Also: Resolder the pins for the control box plug on the PC board. This is a pretty common failure.

Yes, that why it is there.

Nah, mine has been snipped for years.
I bought a non-us carb for my '75 that had a plug where the solenoid be screwed in.

Since the solenoid is good, I will try the resolder/ground option first if it the connection starts acting up again. Took the 40 for a ride today, no idling issue but I can feel hesitation upon acceleration.
New primary Jet (in the pic) or Carb needs a tuneup?

Whats this!!! a "wireless" idle cut solenoid???

Could it have a built in transponder to communicate with the ingition key-on?

Nah!! ......I don't see that happening.......

I wager its had the tip snipped off...........

Does it "diesel" ?.....
