For Sale FJ25 top? Dallas

I think this is an early CJ2 or 3 soft top… but, the older gentleman that I got it from swore it was an early Landcruiser top….

Before I list it locally for the jeep guys, can anyone confirm this is NOT for an early LC—- would hate to see it go to wrong cummunity

Oh, and if I owe anyone parts, please let me know… death in the family in February, and have been out of pocket for multiple weeks

Looks like an early kayline afternoon 40 top. They were funky as the hinge used a rod through the material. Its mid 70’s. Not sure how desirable it is. Do you have the bows( they were specific to the top.

I think I might….. it was an estate sale, it was a hodge podge of old 4x4 stuff

What looks strange to me is the “hinge” point way up high???

There was a small bracket that bolted to the top of the windshield frame.( like I said funky, the front part used like 15 snaps that you needed to drill into the a pillar!!

Wow, that’s amazing…. I can’t imagine drilling all those holes, what were they thinking.

It’s a shame, the back half is an ok design

I suppose a creative sort could make a thinnish piece the length of the A pillar that had the male snaps in it and was secured somehow () to the pillar less intrusively but sufficient to hold any aero load, and include the funky hinge thingy at the top.

Oh, I’m not only not one of those creative sorts but also don’t have a rig for this top, so don’t ask . But seriously good luck.

The REALLY heinous part was that the bottom of the rod required drilling a 3/8” hole in the rocker panel! :barf:

This was the era when fj40’s were $800 and not a collectable vehicle!!

Definitely odd, I had one of those tops in the 90's and hated drilling all those holes for the door snaps!!
