Yep. I looked at them on Summit. Cragar soft 8s are 5 for $379+shipping in an 17X9 backspaced 5". Custom backspaced they go up to $580+shipping.........but I don't see why the 5" backspacing would not be OK with a 17" wheel. What's the extra .5" going to hit?

Pro Comp Series 97 in a 17X9 are 5 for $450 with 4.5" backspacing. Local pick up. I think that might be a better deal.

I don't want to bag on your idea, but a 5" back spaced will look very strange on a cruiser. Those tires would be right up to the frame and inner fenders when stuffed and that narrow really will give you a POS center gravity.

COOL! Now explain the math to me of the 3" spacers and where did you get them?

i got them from the Man - Marlin Crawler, 3", well stock wheels are 3.5 backspace, the FJC ones are 4", so the 3" adds 2.5" to my width and now i do not rub on the Tub in the Rear, and Springs in the Front.. but it creates a large Scrub Radius

I used to run the 17" FJC steelies on my 80 series and loved them, but a friend of mine that wheels his FJC really hard says that his steelies were really weak, dented a lot, and did not hold up well on the rocks.

Just my $.02

Sid

I have not had any issues with denting, but i have scratched them up a bit..

They don't hold the bead of LTBs well at all...I've seen them pop a LTB bead tooooo many times.

Yes this is an issue! :frown: I have Lost 3 Beads with these wheels! (Aired Down to about 5-6 PSI - my Rockers dont Bulge or work well unless they are low like that)

Weld on Bead locks should solve both of the above issues!

went with 4" backspacing

The 8" wheel was way cheaper and less backspaced so let's see when the wheel is on.....may run spacers after all.
