Newbie here. I have an 84 FJ-60 and a 77 Bronco to play with. on the FJ-60, I have a little rust around the rear side glass (big glass in the cargo area) that goes on under the gasket/rubber trim/whatever you want to call it. I can't tell how far under it goes. I'd rather not pull the entire glass out if possible. Does that gasket/trim come off easily or does it completely surround the glass (and extend into the interior)? I have never owned an FJ-60 and Ford's don't rust so it's all new to me...

Ford's don't rust so it's all new to me...

Wow Fords not rusting is all new to me...

Um yes I am pretty sure that is goes all the way around.

if i remember correctly it goes all the way around. welcome to mud:flipoff2:

Welcome to Mud!! I have rust in the same area, so I feel your pain.

Mud salute: :flipoff2:

See, no rust...

How it normally sits, with the hood up...

Nice bronco. Just pull the glass out and fix it right. Not that big of a deal.

The hood id up to let the stink out!:flipoff2:

C'mon guys, a little tolerance please! He already dissed the Bronco so you don't have to.

IMHO the original Bronco is the only good one before Ford screwed it up. And they're worth more than a 60 in similar condition (& I own 2 60s & only 1 Ford - a '56 F100).

Tom -
I'm guessing the thread links that were posted above are about replacing the "chrome" lock strips in the cargo glass gaskets. You'll prolly have to do do that 'cause it's near impossible to get the original ones out without distorting them.

Oh, yeah - welcome!

I don't know if I'm ready to pull...

...the entire glass. I have no problem taking things apart. It's the putting back together that seems to go slower. I was wanting to sand down and paint over any surface rust on this beast. That one dang rear window is the only place that's giving me fits. None of the other common rust areas seem to have any rust at all.

just pull it out. When I replaced my rear windows with the sliders... it went easy and smooth.

I had one of those broncos in highschool........ it rusted apart on me. RUST NOT.....WANT NOT!
