Hi All,

New to the the group here. Just some quick facts; I have inherited a build, a semi complete (FJ 45 pickup with 2F motor). I noticed the motor "sits low and right" in the engine bay - when facing the vehicle. I live in northern Botswana, so there may have been some bush mechanicing to result in this orientation. The engine brackets are standard but seems the mounts are not standard.

Does anyone have a picture/ detail how the motor should sit in the engine bay for reference purposes?

Welcome !

As Charlie suggests above

But seems easier to me if you post some pictures of the engine bay of your truck

If your in the front of the vehicle the motor does sit off to the right. It has to for the offset of the transfer case. As a result the driver's foot well on LHD is narrower that on a RHD. Unless the 40 been lifted a bunch engine be lower too much without hitting the front axle. Pictures of the engine mounts are the quickest way to tell if it's been modified.
