Very Rare! 1978 Toyota FJ-43 Landcruiser. To my knowledge the FJ-43 was never imported to the US. It is basically a FJ-40 chassis with a longer bedpan. All the off road capability with more cargo capacity. I bought this truck while stationed in Bogotá Colombia. It had almost no rust but I went ahead and did a comprehensive restoration. All new paint (the TLC mustard yellow color), all hardware acid dipped and anodized, window packing completely replaced, and the seats were recovered in 1000d Cordura nylon. This truck is in excellent condition. Once back in the states I changed out the motor for a rebuilt Man-a-Fre High Performance 2F motor (less than 100 miles on rebuilt motor) and did a front disk brake swap. The only thing lacking is a heater (it doesn’t get cold enough in Colombia to warrant one.) This is a great daily driver or a platform for a build up. The only reason I am selling it is because I am once again stationed overseas and I can’t bring it with me. Asking $24,000. The truck is in the Boone, North Carolina area. Thanks. It is a very nice truck. Sadly Chile has some ridiculous laws that wouldn't allow me to bring it down here. Hopefully somebody will give her a good home.

Great looking rig! I only wish it were in my budget.

Good luck.

HKS3sgte: I dunno what brand they are. I went to this sketchy neighborhood in Bogota called San Andrecito that I think is mostly a market place for stuff that "fell off the delivery truck". They were the right size, fairly agressive looking, and he had five of them. I'll check and get back to you.

great looking 43, this one looks good with that type of local top on it.

I can't remember his online name now but it was sold to someone else in the south and then sold a few months later again to someone up around Michigan if I remember correctly.

Makes me excited to hopefully restore mine one of these days. Same boat as this owner though. Always moving around.
